From flames to watermelons

Geoana the exorcist, from violet flame to Dabuleni watermelons: I get mad when I see Turkish watermelons

The Senate Speaker Mircea Geoana, when he is not attacked by the violet flame, as it happened in the presidential campaign, has some other occult hobbies as well, specific to the position he holds.  The newest hobby of the Senate Speaker, recognized as a career diplomat, is to exorcize the Turkish watermelons sold in the Romanian markets. The sellers say these watermelons are grown in Dabuleni, his native village.

Geoana said on Realitatea TV that he gets mad when he sees Turkish watermelons sold as Romanian products of Dabuleni. He is proud to represent the Romanian watermelon producers in Parliament, he added.

“When I go through the country and see Turkish watermelons sold as if they came from Dabuleni, I get mad. Now, I’m using a polite and diplomatic tone, and I say this is abnormal. It is a matter beyond personal pride, I am proud to represent these people,” Geoana said on Realitatea TV.

Geoana also mentioned Turkish watermelons last Sunday, while he was talking with real Dabuleni watermelon producers in the Piata Sudului market of Bucharest, whom he assured he will make approaches to have their product registered with OSIM trademark authority, so that “no Turk can come and say he is from Dabuleni.”

Presedintele Senatului Mircea Geoana, atunci cand nu este atacat de flacara violeta, cum s-a intamplat in campania prezidentiala, are si alte preocupari oculte, specifice functiei pe care o detine. Mai nou, ultima preocupare a sefului Senatului, recunoscut ca un diplomat de cariera este sa exorcizeze pepenii turcesti, din pietele romanesti, care sunt prezentati ca fiind din Dabuleni, localitatea sa natala.

Geoană, a declarat la Realitatea TV că "îl apucă dracii" când vede pepeni turceşti prezentaţi ca fiind de Dăbuleni, el spunând că este mândru să-i reprezinte pe cultivatorii de lubeniţe în Parlament.

"Când mă duc prin ţară şi văd pepeni turceşti pe care îi prezintă ca fiind de Dăbuleni mă apucă şi dracii, acum vorbesc mai puţin politicos şi diplomatic, şi zic că nu este normal. Este o chestiune care depăşeşte orgoliul personal, eu sunt mândru să-i reprezint pe aceşti oameni", a spus Geoană, la Realitatea TV.

Geoană a vorbit şi duminică despre pepenii turceşti, fiind prezent în Piaţa Sudului din Capitală pentru a sta de vorbă cu producătorii de pepeni din Dăbuleni, cărora le-a dat asigurări că va face demersuri pentru înregistrarea produsului la OSIM, pentru a nu mai veni "niciun turc să spună că e de Dăbuleni".
