Happy Christmas!
Dear Everyone,
Well, this is it. 'Deck the halls with boughs of holly, falalalalaaaaaaa lalalala!...' etc... I leave in an hour and will be back in Bucharest on Thursday 28th December all being well.
It's been a hectic week despite no work, and has gone by in a bit of a whirl. Hat shopping with Ruth, Pre-Christmas with dear Lucia and George, the carol service at the Anglican Church (how lovely to can belto the carols that reminded me so much of St. Paul's and Christmas's past...) with Gaby and drinks afterwards with Mihaela home for Christmas from Germany, two Pre-Christmas's with the girls at La Mama and again at Oana's - both great nights...Oof! And shopping of course, getting train tickets, trying to clean the cave before my departure, getting up to date with e-mails, writing Christmas cards (not a big thing here) for everyone without internet and trying to find a postbox (you can't imagine how difficult that can be, let alone finding an appropriate moment to buy stamps when you don't have to wait an hour in the queue at the Post Office!), packing.... (See pix in the Christmas In Bucharest album)
Have a lovely Christmas, one and all, wherever you may be, surrounded by loved ones, plenty to eat and a good film on the box! If you get round the piano for any singing, think of me. I'll be there in spirit!
Lots of love,
