The City Tour Buses: Bucharest v Brasov

On Sunday (the same day as the Muzeul Spiru Haret shock), we took the Bucharest City Tour Bus. It was fun! It really was! 25 RON (expensive in Romanian terms but very reasonable for a tourist) and 10 RON for children under 14 will buy you a ticket for 24 hours. You can hop on and off at each stop and explore the areas of your choice, with distance between buses at 15 minutes or so. Spiru Haret's tender family...

As if the previous post isn't bad enough, yesterday brought with it another shock. The same intrepid friend and I decided to take another walk, this time around L.Catargiu. It is full of such beautiful architecture from Berindei to Cerchez and always does one's soul good. Or so we thought. Halfway up the boulevard, we turned off on to str. The (very) suspicious tale of Casa Memoriala G.Calinescu

On Saturday, a friend and I decided to take a walk in the Dorobanti area, taking in the beautiful old (and some new) houses, the Zambaccian Museum and the Casa Memoriala George Calinescu nearby in Floreasca.
