Liana Dumitrescu dies aged 38
So very sad. May Liana Dumitrescu rest in peace. I do hope this isn't another case of malpractice:
MP Liana Dumitrescu dies at 38 after cardiac arrest
(Source: Bucharest Herald) MP Liana Dumitrescu died Thursday morning, after an almost two week struggle to recover from the stroke she suffered on 18 January, two days before turning 38. The patient arrested at 8.45 and though doctors tried to resuscitate her for 46 minutes, her heart did not respond, Elias Hospital, where the deputy was hospitalized, said in a press... A final goodbye to Cristi Paturca: prophesy or anthem?
And so Cristi Paturca was laid to rest today not at all as he had planned, but nevertheless, the final goodbyes have now been said, en masse, and wonderfully captured for posterity HERE by TVR. The crowds speak for themselves and even the priest sings along to Imnul Golanilor. Very powerful. Very moving.
Here is an article below from Ziare, terribly sad and very well written, though every word resounds like a knell. Cristi Paturca's destiny was as tragic as that of anticommunism. Cristi died poor, rejected by society, sick and... [Lire la suite]

Bellu - a far cry from Pta Universitatii
A great sadness tonight to discover that Cristi Paturca's family have decided to have him buried at Bellu. One could not really get further from his wishes to be cremated and have his ashes scattered at Pta Universitatii than to end up at Bellu. It's an honour, yes, and he will doubtless be within strumming distance of Florin Pitis and Valeriu Sterian but it was not what he desired and I am quite horrified that someone's final wishes could be so glibly ridden rough-shod over... It shows that his family really didn't know him at all. I... [Lire la suite]

More on Pierre Michel
News on the little boy sold in Alfortville, France:
Pierre Michel was taken from Fiuruta Lingurar by the French Child Protection Office and is currently in care in Alfortville. It appears that Lingurar (ex-Zimbru) was arrested in Timisoara as she got off the bus, but was later released. She is not allowed to leave Roumanian territory and will be judged in liberty. Proposterous when one imagines how Florentina Cirstea was kept behind bars for almost three months and THIS rogue is a trafficker. Incredible. The other two, Nelu and... [Lire la suite]

Florentina's trial date moved to 7th February
Florentina's trial date has been moved to 7th February and she is accused of involuntary manslaughter. Apparently, the 'negligence' plea does not exist in Roumanian legislation which is a massive omission in my humble opinion. She will be joined in the dock by Marinescu, Dima, Oprea and Tomas and depending on the papers you read, the order of culprits changes... Skip Can-Can, Prima and the motley gutter press who have gone back to their old ways of feeding Florentina to the wolves. Cries on the news and in comments below articles... [Lire la suite]
