Strength in poetry...

Please, please if you do nothing else this evening, click on THIS LINK and listen to the very special, very wonderful Ana Blandiana. How I wish I could just hug her. She exudes such warmth, such depth. Here, she speaks of the half hour that showed her what politics was not and what she would spend the rest of her life avoiding.... A woman of immense courage and bravery, compassion and love. It's written all over her face.

"Because I am able to understand, I am guilty for all I understand." How many times have I heard that said in different ways, different looks by different people. Ana Blandiana sums up what communism did to the human soul in just one sentence.
